Choosing where to play college basketball is a big decision. There are thousands of institutions to choose from, and it might be difficult to know where to start. Is the school willing to help with/ invest in my basketball program? Is the location somewhere I would feel comfortable living? Does this school offer everything I am searching for academically speaking? Afterward, go through your initial list again and remove any school that does not pass all of these questions with a yes- this should leave you with only a handful of potential programs that closely match what YOU as an individual are needing!
Step Three: Visit the Schools on Your List
The best way to learn about a school is by experiencing it firsthand. If possible, schedule your visit during the fall so that you can see the campus when classes are in session and students are around. During your visit, take some time to talk to members of the basketball team and coaching staff.
They'll be able to give you a good sense of what it's like being part of the program. basketball is an important part of the school experience, and talking to those involved in the program will give you a better sense of what the school is like. In addition, they'll be able to answer any questions you have about the program and the school itself.
